Ummmm....

Wasting an extra 49 points to use both fire and ice attune is bad anyway you look at it. Instead of using skill point gear you could be boosting your damage.

Also on a eg boss battle using fire is better as it's a longer fight being more dps. So using ice attunement is actually hurting your dps as you can't use fire attunement because of it.

Dear furyion,

Gelebron has 8 crystals healing him 60k per 5 seconds. These crystals come in 3 types: fire/ice/poison
Fire is weak to ice
Ice is weak to fire
Poison is weak to druid magic damage attacks

These types let you hit significantly higher then other damage types, but on the contrary all the other damage is significantly cut.

Your a knowledgeable player, no doubt about that. But please do not claim things you have never experienced.

Given the circumstance, I think it would be best to have some fire mages and some ice. Mixing the two attunes on a single toon would hinder dps; however, using 1 attune per person, some of ice some of fire, would allow for higher hits and extra skill points to place into another skill.

You need to break it up into groups of fire and ice mages, to kill the correct crystals. Who is who depends on who has the best gear for which element. Going hybrid would only harm the groups damage.

Plus I mentioned fire(if possible), so you can be ready for other bosses besides gele(as most of eg is bossing, fire is more dps). But if you have good ice gear you shouldn't waste it.

And where are you going to get these 20 endgame mages from? I'd rather be able to do gelebron with 10 mages dualling fire/ice, than wait 2-3 years for our clan to have 20
