First rule of thumb, when you die you want to run out of energy and hp at the same time. That way you have truely given your all to the fight.

Always use E shield in every fight even at lower levels.

All of your skill rely on focus. So you probably have put a lot of points into focus and dont have many hit points. The purpose of e shield is to move that energy into HP. It is really no different than a druids heal but much less powerful. So here are the mechanics.

Lets assume you have 400 hp and have a 400 hp e shield. So you can begin the fight effectivly with 800hp. If you can get a second cast off then you have 1200hp. But you have to stay alive to do that. So cast your e shield and wait. The e shield has a 60 sec recover time before you can recast it, but it lasts for 90 sec. You can wait 30 or 45 sec before starting the fight to make sure you get that second shield in.

So how much E shield should I have? Ideally, you should have enough energy to cast e shield twice and still have just enough energy to spam every spell you have until you die. If you are dying with lots of energy, get more shield. If you are running out of E and are stuck hitting with your toothpick then reduce shield and increase DPS.

Okay thanks! I have been adding everything into just focus. Now I am at the point of the story line in duns wither catacombs. Am I close to getting e shield?
