Meditate vs energy boost

#1
While starting out (low levels) I am finding myself waiting for energy to regen takes foreeeever and then some.

I have energy boost at lv4. This gives me +2 regen per tic over 9 tics and costs 13 mp and is done regaining before the skill recycles. It's regeneration works during battle

I have meditate at lv1. This gives me +2 regen per tic for maybe another 9 or more tics (didn't count), costs 5 mp and the skill recycles long before the effect is over. It does not work during battles.

At my stage I really could care less about regening during battle, and doubt that I ever will. I havnt gotten a chance to level meditate, but I want to recreate my character doing skills better and am wondering how meditate and energy boost compare at high levels (regen added per tic, cost of skill). Also what is the comventional wisdom about this mana issue?

I don't plan on buying sigils right now, maybe in the future if I like how the game is going and want to stick with it.

I'm guessing no response= no one knows or wants to think about it or cares. Boring people

I remade my character and found that meditate works very well, having low amounts of energy to work with. I also only upgraded lure of fire, leaving fire bolt at lv1. I can hit 125s down against lv10s now, though bit higher and it doesn't work so well.

I also discovered the regen skills increase one every 3 or more levels after lv2. I have meditate lv5 and it gives +3 regen for 9 mana.

I have another question though. I got the sceptre, which says 10 magic damage and 17 crushing damage. It only appears to be doing magic damage. Is this a bug, do I need to learn another ability which is magically not available? What's up with it.

Sorry, I must have missed this post somehow.
Overall, meditate is the better of the two skills, but of course it ends the second you engage in combat. It also depends on your ice magic vs first aid ability scores.

For the scepter, yes it is a bug. There are a few other weapons that say they give 2 effects, but only give one or the other. Should be fixed in the update.

Interesting bot above me, but since it brought this post back up three years later and other people may have the same question...

I am not a heavy sigil investor and generally avoid energy issues. I strongly recommend saving your cash for a heroic ammy from the lux vendor. That will help you enormously. And ignore meditate. It sucks. Invest points in eboost. Yes you have to cast it more often, but it works in combat and can be cast on another player (such as a druid or rogue in your group that needs more energy). So, it helps your group in addition to yourself.

Otherwise, make your big investments energy regen in combat lux: heroic ammy, masters grim, energy regen brace, etc. Between those and eboost, you should be able to manage energy effectively. And, of course, upgrade it all at 150 when the high level lux store opens to you.
