Pure Support Mage build

#1
Starting to get a bit too hard to solo level my 121 mage. I'm planning on making him pure support, hopefully I'll be able to score enough group leveling positions to level at a normal pace.

Planning:

30/30 fire cloak
20/30 lure assassins
20/30 lure soldiers
20/30 lure fire
10/30 lure ice (for those who have ice blades/quivers)
10/30 lure magic (for those who have magic blades/quivers)
10/30 lure of giants (not many people use crushing)
10/30 energy shield

theoretically including rings

did I say pure support? Ya kinda scary huh? I feel claustrophobic not bieng able to damage
Nerfed Mage ~140
Why play a class where skills cost more than other classes for same damage?
Why play a class with no auto attack?
Why play a class with 1/3 the armor?
Why play a caster?

Copy this sig! :)

Or mabye:

30/30 fire cloak
30/30 lure assassins
30/30 lure soldiers
30/30 lure fire
0/30 lure ice (normal mages have good ice lure)
0/30 lure magic (not worth it)
10/30 lure of giants (not many people use crushing)

Don't think you need that many points in lures, since once it has negated a mob's resistance, it can't go lower (i think, but to be honest i'm only judging from some posts about lures i've seen on the forums, so don't trust me too much on that matter).
I personnaly would take some points out of lure of fire (like lure of ice, other mages will provide it) and adding them to either meditate or energy boost. Boost for group energy regen, meditate for yourself in case you run out of energy.

But be careful with that, if those of are convinced mages are only support see that, they'll start saying that's all a mage can do

Good ideas.

Arcana : I was one of the ones testing and advocating for low lures

However!

Low lures are for leveling

High lures are for bosses. bosses have extreme resists.

I may go toward an energy healer type as well good idea. just seems though that the melee classes really don't need that much energy help though. They are like energizer bunnies, the keep going and going...

Well, dunno how it is for rogues and warriors, but as a lvl29 ranger, I seem to still run out of energy if i'm not careful against tough mobs. But i can still replenish my energy with mediae in seconds, so that deosn't count as much (also, since i'm not that used to ranger, there must be a link.
But it would useful for druids/other mages who have kept damage spells upper and sacrificed ernegy regen and don't have sigils (though in my view, if they do that and still play mages, they deserve what they get :P ), it would allow them to keep up with other classes.
That's all about situation, really.

Good point. Well yes, if they are at my level and don't have good regen they have a bunch of sigils (at least on my server).

Also since I can't see peoples energy I might skip on Sacrifice.

However I am considering putting points into energy boost, I think people would like that.

How much do you get with energy boost per point?

It's not linear. I don't know the whole curve, but it's definitely not linear.

I have 11/20 in boost and I get 16e/tick at a cost of 16e. Adding a pt would give me 2e/tick more at a cost of 2e more.

And here's a plug for boost and sacrifice for an all-support mage. If you have a druid replenishing your health, you can use that as a battery to refill energy, especially since sacrifice is faster than boost. Again, better for grouping or boss hunting than soloing because you need the druid.

I'm thinking of switching my mage to a pure support build seeing as he's just sitting in an account somewhere.
These means complete revamp: rebirth and alt book.
How should I allocate those skill points at level 87?
I have something like 700 health and rest in focus.
I'm fine with it ALL in focus :P
That's how support I'm going.
I have both slash and piercing lure.
