Pure melee mage or battlemage?

Does a pure melee mage who doesnt use shards or bolt have higher damage over time as compared to a battlemage who uses h2h with firebolt in between?
depends on your lvl.
For you a good build at lvl 65 is max bolt, 5-10 pts fire lure,near max eshield, max fire cloak.
All while still meleeing.
