Celtic Heroes

Currently have my h2h at 720+ and have been a fire spell mage. Have not spent a point in ice dmg spells and now I am unsure of which kind of mage I want to be.

These are the few pros and cons of the two mages that I know of.

Spell mage (fire+ice)
Pros:
-Able to damage any boss including lavalord

Cons:
High energy consumption
Insufficient skill points for support skills (lure of assassins etc)

Fire melee mage (Uses firebolt and melee)

Pros:
-Auto attack
-Low energy consumption
-Higher dps than spell mage
-Extra skill points for support skills

Cons:
-Cant fight lavalord at all
-Unable to deal high dps on bosses with very high fire resists

Would like to know if there are any more pros and cons that I should consider before picking which type I want and your suggestion too. Thanks.

I think you need to take the gear available to you into consideration when making this choice. If you have the gear for a hth Mage , I find it more fun than just casting .

For me, I don't think that gear is that important. So long as I have a blade and helm, it should suffice. Or am I wrong? Haven't fought in OW yet so I am not sure how tough they are. And what can melee mages do when fighting lavalord or high fire resist bosses?

Just do what most the best mages do and change your build for lava lords lol takes like maybe 3 minutes and well who am i kidding most the best mages dont even **** with lava lord anymore lol however when we did just use a couple books and bam you can be anyone u wanna be.

Are there any other fire resistant bosses that are worthy to fight? Fought fellfire yesterday at level 82 and I'm doing 80 fire damage with a 12 lure...pathetic

Dont use fire one fire based mobs lol ice for them they go down easily i can kill all bosseS in sv solo and all red bosses duoing with my druid i am level 150 i use fire spells on fellfire however with a level 30 lure and a level 40 fire bolt or even level 44 if i wanna change jewels i do maybe 300 damage to fellfire with fire ice is the easiest way to kill him.
