Need help with new mage

#1
Ok just looking for some tips with my mage. I am almost lvl 70 now. I have always played my warrior and other melee classes. And i am not real sure on how to build my mage. I have been following the warden and metroic quest. So just wondering if i should keep going or just go ahead and abandon. Keep in mind i have plenty of regens and i dont really wanna spend no more gold then i have to lol. So any advice would be awesome.

I haven't bought warden yet as its a pain... At level 100 I'll start collecting the samhain armor that adds great focus unless I can buy diamond mage armor off someone cheap.

You want advice from a pro you got it don't wanna spend alot of gold or platinum do not make a mage lol bottom line mage is a rich persons class up keep such as sigils and potions are pretty much essential even with all the best regen items including divine broom to heal you stats once your at a certain level you will spend several minutes regenerating your hp and mp. Ahh sorry to crush your dreams on a cheap mage but it just doesn't work like that lol believe me when i tell you this though or find out the hard way when you run out of energy fighting a mob and gotta beat it to death with your wand unless u wanna go pure h2h but if your gonna do that you can do that with any class lol may as well be something with higher defense.

Thoro, I'm happy to help you figure out your mage. Leveling my rogue helped me to realize just how very different melee is from casters. It's a difficult adjustment.

One piece of advice that you may already know is not to bother with mage weapons. Also, quest armor is fine, but Samhain armor is better for the focus bonus. I flip back and forth between Spirit Shadow and Frozen for different fights, but I'd say Samhain is better than warden or meteoric. If you're willing to spend, energy sigils will really come in handy. At your low level, you may not see any energy problems yet but you will. Seriously.

Also depends whether you're going damage or support, although you don't have to decide for another 40-60 levels. So just alt and rebirth then.
