Is a Ice shard with half max ice lure or incinerate with max fire lure better for bosses generally? Are there more cold resistant bosses,fire resistant bosses or general resistant bosses?

Also wondering whether ice shards is at a huge disadvantage due to spell evades.

Personally I would go fire. Max that if you have a max fire lure. Another reason for going fire like many mages do is because ice costs so much energy. There are fire resistant bosses, more so than cold resistant ones. However, you have to take in the overall effectiveness of yourself and your play style to decide which skills to use and what to put your points in.

Just use fireball and ice shards with lots of strength to do a lot of damage lure is for noobs

Cheese are you stupid? No lures on a lure based class; and since when do you think that you should add str when wands are magic so they dont multiply, and h2h only supplies 1 crushing (excluding offhand). Even if you have a h2h build, mainly means you have a 200 offhand which again str doesnt get multiplied to the extent that adding focus boosts your spells. You might wanna actually play a class before giving stupid advice. Go incinerate, shards is the only thing ice based and from your description (fire melee) you have fire trident of blade. So it would not be worth the 20 points in shards (the max for your level) plus about 10 more points in lure where if shards misses it sill decrease your dps. Where as incinerate you have other spells to back it up (firebolt, cloak, possibly firestorm). Hope all the info helps
