may people suggest that cloack of fire has the highest dps of all mage spells.

(example) does it mean that if i cast skills for 1 minute exactly:
-total damage ice shards: 560
-total damage fire bolt: 610
-total damage inceinerate: 520
-total damage cloack of fire: 640

am i wrong or right?

I usually am against fire cloak but we recently got the aggy bracelet that adds +250 fire magic and +5 fire cloak.
So I figured I'd give it another shot at 49/35 and it hits 500+
It's definitely not a great spell but for my alts that I will be training until update will work wonders.

Cloak is fantastic 1-80 and then slowly becomes less and less important. Once you get to 130 + I don't see a direct need to have it unless you are a support mage; you will contribute more damage through other skill choices. Does that mean it's worthless? Absolutely not, it's just difficult to find a way to get skill points for it at a level where it becomes beneficial over other available options.

i am a lvl 75 mage and just got freeze and incinerate.
right now i just got a alt book and want to chance my skills.
i just dont know what to do, some people say go all fire, but u say cloack is oke but not that great.

somebody can give me some advice?

This is an incorrect example, simply because Cloak of Fire is a DoT (damage over time) skill that you only need to cast in that 1 minute, while the rest of those (sans Incinerate which is also DoT) needs to be re-casted.

The main drawback of the skill is that it is reactive. The mob has to hit you (or who ever you buffed with it) for the skill to actually do dmg. E.G. casting it on the druid who's not getting hit anyway is useless.

The Biggest advantage is, IMO a bug. Cloak seems to disregard level discrepancies and can achieve max damage (with lure) even on higher level mobs.

You may want to look into this thread, and the links within, for various "types" of mages. Personally, I'm a full Fire caster and I love Cloak.

I have used cloak a lot and always go back to it. I respec at least once a week for different reasons.

I believe cloak is better then incinerate because of it's utility. It can be cast on other players. Allowing them to tank or power level. It only needs to be cast once making it very effective use of energy.
When leveling in the cave for the final 10 levels from 140 - 150 I was not able to come up with a better build then cloak and shield maxed. I estimated that the cloak was doing about half of my damage and I was able to fight two mobs at once.

If you would like to pvp I would definitely try incinerate. Cloak is not very useful in the arena.
