Mages follow a whole different base of stats. Some mages may just put lots on energy however if you don't have energy regens then it may take you a while, just spread them at to vitality and focus

For your stats assuming you aren't going lures you will want a 3 points focus per level and 2 points vit per level because its important to be able to live through a mob and focus is what mages are built around and add damage to your spells.

Welcome to Hogwarts! (jking lol)

Well for a mage strength is definitely useless DO NOT put points in it.

Dex, well, in later lvls it would be difficult to tell (I don't put points in it either).

Foc, definitely dump loads of points in it, affects all ur mage skills.

Vit, enough to survive.

I personally go foc-vit 50-50.

Skills:

Firebolt is best dps MAX it.
Eshield, Awesome skill, but up to you it eats loads of energy.
Boost and sacrifice if you have energy issues.
Ice shards, OP in early lvls but becomes too inconsistent at later lvls.
Energy well, I don't use it I think it's useless.
Lures, Definitely have.
Cloak and incinerate is nice to have too.

Personally my choices are:

Max bolt
Max lure of fire
Max Eshield
50-50 points for eboost and sacrifice.
(I like symmetry! :p)

Currently I almost never get scratched and have infinite mana, I tested this without regens so it should work just fine.

I don't use ice shards bc bolt does more dps and its too inconsistent but you will need ice shards for lava lord (a boss in ow that heals itself if you use fire dmg on it).

Well really apart from DO NOT add points in strength, everything else is up to you to decide.

Good luck! :D

I think that dexterity is important, if like me, u have a hand to hand Mage. With other stat points, I divert them to vit and eng. I like to keep my dex at half of my vit and eng
