Well, first, lets get this out of the way... Damage is limited to the skills and the ability, since wand damage is minimal.

The first 3 skills that you want to max are "firebolt", "lure of fire", and "cloak of fire". These are not set in order; you decide. Cloak of fire is your main damage dealing skill. It is interuptable duting battle, so cast it before battle. Firebolt is your basic relyable skill that you can cast over and over again during battle. Lure of fire is what can be used to weaken your target by making them more suseptable to fire damage (open up your battles with this).

As for stats... Like I mentioned before, wands do minimal damage. Do not put any points into strength! Some mages find dex to be usefull. If you agree, and want to cast interuptable spells with less interuptions, put some dex. Focus and vitality are to argue for. This is where you must come up with a decision.

Do you want to have a ton of energy (and use energy shield as a tactic for tanking), or have alot of health that you can rely on? With warden gear and regen items, energy is plenty and doesn't act as an issue when it comes to using vitality. However, the shield tactic i mentioned requires all the energy you can get.

If you decide to go with vitality, you can always use "energy well" to boost your total amount of energy for 3 minutes.

I hope this helped. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask :)

I dont see anything wrong, though i should warn you. You cannot rely on iceshards. As you may already notice, they are too slow and interuptable. That being said, i would not upgrade the skill until your firebolt and cloak of fire are maxed. Cloak of fire is your best friend. Just dont go wrong with the stats and decide on your build sooner than later.

Well, I would by no means call myself a mage pro with my lil lvl 34, but...

Personally, I use Cloak, Firebolt and Ice Shards all the time. Even though they take long to reload, Ice Shards are extremely powerful (lvl 5 ice does more dmg then lvl 10 fire). I usually open the fight with shards and then bombard with fire bolts. :D My skills setup included Cloak, Firebolt, Shards, Lure of Fire/Ice, Bandages.

Also, my Shards don't get interrupted to often, even when I have some higher lvl mobs surrounding me. I guess I'm just used to interrupted skills from my Druid. :D
I open up with lure of fire. I cast ice shards right after a firebolt. I dont use lure of ice...

Hey Xelly,
Long time no see.
I agree with you X. Here is Tog during normal Mob combat:
1st he casts cloak of fire.
2nd cast lure of fire.
3rd casts ice shards (I have found that, when attacking a Mob from a distance, I believe that I can usually get an ice shards off before they interrupt it. And I usually only use lure of ice during boss hunting or occasionally during a battle with a Mob that I know will take some time.
4th Fire bolt to death (repeating ice shards if necessary, if I can get one off).
I have much more Vitality than Focus, a very small amount of Dex, and no Str. I am, however, curious to rebuild him and go higher Focus, and slap an Ammy on him for energy. But currently, he charges in, burns up his enemy with Cloak, and relies on his Hp to survive the battle.
Peace,
Tog

You dont need much focus if your amulet regenerates energy. I neve go past 1/4, so i am going to restat.
