i have a lvl 115+ mage and for quite a while i was using
str-
dex-100
foc-+3
vit-+2
i recently removed the dext and changed to focus +3 and vit +2 and feel like more of my attacks are dodged. does dexterity have an affect on mages and what exactly does it do?
ive never known what to do with my dext as a mage (novelty setup) ive been around for 2yrs and nobody quite seems to know.

Dexterity increases attack and defence. The higher attack you have, the high chance of your auto attacking hitting. The higher defence you have, the higher chance you have of dodging an auto attack.

Since mages have a bad auto attack (unless you use a damage off-hand and h2h set up), your points are more worthwhile in focus or vitality.

the more focus u have, the less it affects, thats why theres vit which is always the best stat that doesnt have limits IMO
but focus will always be better, just for the damn misses, its always to get good vit as well

for dex

1 dex point = 1 attack point + 2 defence points

attack = increases the chances of hitting with melee (auto attack) - unless ur h2h mage, with elemental offhand (tried, its good, but very expensive for the highest dmg gear available) , then it wont help

defence - increases the chances to dodge melee - very useful, but less effective as a mage, i mean it has the same effect, but taking points from mage's focus or vit isnt the best choice


vit and focus untill ur 190 (or more if ur bored enough)

Don't put pts in dex, it doesn't really have a huge effect on dodge/accuracy unless you put a heap lot of pts in it, which mages don't usually do.

100 dext is a very good sacrifice imo and I have used it for more than a month. I've been dodging around 15% of enemies' auto but these are focus points that you are loosing.
I have finally rebirthed because I can now dual with druid but it's a very good solo build

add to it greater solstice boots or radiant and it's awesome!
I never auto attack so I can't tell much about it.

seriously? wow I really thought the contrary. imo def is the most useful and with otm's minds I wasn't expecting anything else lol.

I'm going to a 200 dex build.
I'm lvl 188 so I harbour alot more stat points and 400 def should work really well, maybe..
