Mage as a first character

I selected a Mage not knowing anything about this game and I've reached this point where it's taking forever to lvl due to loss of energy. I have no money to put into this game but I'm already lvl 57. Idk if I should continue playing my Mage or choose a different class. I keep hearing Mages are money pits but if I make a new character how would I transfer all my equipment?

I really don't want to quit my Mage because they nuke the crap out of monsters but idk how long I can go without any big ticket items. I only have 25k and ancient linen armor and so far I've done alright. I'm just concerned about the long term investment. Any ideas?

Try maxing energy boost and adjusting your focus to a point where it sustains your energy loss.

I and few others are proof that a Mage can survive without sigils. However, I still recommend you try a new class before you drain too much time and resources on a Mage. I can tell you right now, the game for a Mage without sigils is absolute rubbish.

You will always need to group level unless you use sigils or restoration potions. As you level, you will notice that you grow weaker compared to other classes. You will have to maintain a high amount focus for energy boost to sustain the loss. Ice skills are beyond repair and evades will kill you.

I advise you to look through some Mage posts concerning the dynamics of Mages at the moment, especially as you get to a higher level. Casting nuke skills are fun but when you look at the big picture, there are many things that are not fun at all.

you could get some tips from more experienced mages and see if that helps

otherwise to transfer your stuff you would make the new character and then mail all your stuff to him using the ingame mailbox

If your not willing to spend a LOT of real money in this game, quit the mage. Remember, plp will disagree with their 182 lvl mage, but they didnt LEVEL their mage on this update at lower levels. They leveled at lower levels when mages were a good class back earlier in thr game. I love how lvl 182 mages who have NO EXPERIENCE at leveling at lvl 52 or 82 or 102 under THIS CURRENT UPDATE love to disagree and marganilize people who are.

Seriously, its a fun game... But right now, mages are nerfed and dont have enouh points to go around. Get out if you are already unhappy, because it gets even worse after level 100.

Just my two cents ... And if you read the forums, many agree.

Energy problems? Max energy boost. Still problems? Buy a book of alt and change your skill setup. Still energy problems? Make a different character

Save for lux. Heroic rejuv ammy, masters grim, energy brace, energy crown and eboost together are critical as you progress. I don't buy sigils (and am 150) but lix is a necessity for a mage if you don't.

And the ammy should be the first purchase because it is usable on any toon.

I agree with poster above me. U don't have to buy sigils in the plat store if u don't wanna. Also if u want u can earn lil by lil spot a shout buy a crate here and there. Maxing e boost helps lots i got to 140 no sigils. I did buy sigils once available, focus items like master grim helps some. I only earned for rejuv at first and had my e boost maxed. If u like ur mage class u should play it but as others said if unhappy change.

Use sacrifice and eshield, you can shuffle energy to replenish it real quick with some extra shielding from dmg :D
