What build is better? And what is a training build? Is fire cloak worth the points? Tell me the build for fire and ice mage. I will compare them. I know ice is stronger but if you miss as I heard then you're in trouble.

^im not a mage but yeah all it takes to beat an ice build mage is a half decent warding^

one miss and a large portion of their damage is down the drain cuz the cooldowns suck

fire for dps, ice for nuking dmg, evasions screw ice
fire cloak is crap for non support mages

my mage is lvl 72 but
firebolt - maxed
fireattune - maxed
firestorm - maxed
fire lure halved
ice shards - 11/20
ice lure - 1/20 still helps

dont cast ice attune, at lvl 1 its waste of time imo

Id say fire for training ice for bossing
Do something like the build above you cant cast 2 attunes so stick to fire
Also when firestorm gets at a high lvl it uses a decent ammount of energy compared to firebolt may wanna back off some points on firestorm and put them into lure when u get higher

oh right, so either way i dont use ice attune
and i think fire would be better even for bossing, our ice mages dont get as much kills as fire mages (not that we got tons of high mages), and i wouldnt call them crappy cuz they prob can beat most of the mages here

Fire bolt - 50/40
Fire storm - 50/40
Fire attunement - 49/40
Fire lure - 24/40
Energy shield - 26/40
Pierce lure - 22/40
Magic lure - 11/40
Crush lure - 10/40 (depending on whether I use +9 ring, or +4 attune ring)

That's pretty much my build, and I'm loving every second of it. Evasions don't really matter much since you can cast another skill within a few seconds, unlike ice mage where you are pretty much stuck for a good 10 seconds waiting for one of your skills to cool down.

A good balance between the two is what i reccomend but ice does more damage on most mobs, also depends on the weapon and build you have but as i said a balence is always good.

Firemage. Just stay firemage.

If you want a laugh, go icemage. Seriously though, I lost locks and kills due to evades and fluctuation.

Casting a second attune will cancel the first one you cast, so definitely do not cast a lvl 1 ice to cancel out your maxed fire attune

Won't cancel out, the ice attunement will just be resisted.
