Sigils

#1
Hey guys, i know since the patch sigils are kinda useless but i wanted to know if there is some way that they benefit in battle?
Im planning on buying a few either today or somewhere throughout the week and wanted to know if it was worth it or not. Thanks

Although they are out of combat regen, they can be used in battle.
The most obvious example is when grouped and out of aggro by restricting your own actions, but similarly there are ways to benefit solo as well.
If you are a mage that makes use of freeze then this should (assuming you are 1v1 with no one around to help / hinder) enable you gain two clicks of sigil regen before the effect wears off.
I've also heard that some employ a run technique to gain the odd click (both in and out of PVP) though I haven't tried or practiced this to date.

Thanks very much, I appreciate the feedback.
Didn't OTM nerd the running around tactic witht he previous update making it that even while running, if you are under attack you are not considered passive therefor sigils do not work?
Thanks

If under attack then so far as I can determine then sigils will not function whether the player is running or not.
In PVP this is subject to the opponents ability to target you, but outside of PVP I cannot say what benefit tbh.
I've read a couple of posts in the past that suggest people have gained the odd click through running, but whether this was exploiting the old sigil format, or whether they have found a lesser benefit was not clear.
Hypothesising it might be that on certain mobs where attacks are particularly slow or spaced apart, that the act of making them chase might facilitate an minuscule delay allowing for a single tick. This is pure conjecture on my part to possibly explain statements which are not my own though, and is probably incorrect. More likely you are correct in that there is currently no benefit to running outside of a PVP environment.

The odd tick happens when u run away from a mob and acquire a cerain distance, then the mob will follow you, and if it uses a skill with a cast time of more than 2 seconds you will gain the odd tick. It also happens when you run with speed boosts.

So fluttershy to be completly clear, if I were to drive on a dragonstaff (60%) in a circle around mob(wide enough to cause it to run) would I gave the tick?
By then you would probably achieve near same speed as the mobs (mobs are fast runners lol).

If you have the skill to not reset it and avoid getting hit by its autos, you will.

Sigils are actually really good if you have them in mass amounts, the downtime between training can be an issue for some classes and the sigils make life eaasssyyy.
