Hi all, I'm just wondering is mage the best class to be at pvp ?

imo its warrior (hybrid/tank builds only)

It may be the best kill-the-annoying-noob-who-attacks-and-runs class in PvP.

ice mage is great to one hit all the low lvls, this is why u might see low lvl pvp ice mages on ppl's sigs, like armo's
but for higher lvl, with enough budget, tank warrior could kick anyone's ass, and change gear according to the foe, if ice mage, wear one shrouding bracer, evasions screw mages and mostly ice ones

also double attack + shatter + rupture, deadly combo, even just shatter + one of them, double does high dmg on pvp, and rupture is just a pain in the ass, like any other DoT

Mages are beast in pvp in early lvls, especially when you twink them, as ppl in early lvls doesn't have a lot of resis.

I have a lvl 1 pvp mage hitting 100's (just to show you how awesome mages still are in pvp in early lvls, already have quite a few ppl copying my build back in my world -.-)

For earliest lvls go fire fire attune gives beast dmg.

For later lvls still go with fire, ice is good for impressing ppl with big numbers but one evade and ur screwed, don't add pts into firebolt and firestorm (ik it's strange) better off putting them into lure and attune and eshield, as bolt and storm are nerfed in pvp.

Dps druids are also very good at PVP at lower lvls.

If by build you mean slapping on royal and grand ice attunement and blast, that's nothing really to be proud of.
