I just started a new mage account on Rhiannon
and I just wanted to know which type of mage is better? Ice or fire?
Re: What type of mage is better?
#2Fire as a noob with ice support spells for mana and protection, and when you become a higher level its best to be either pure ice or pure fire.

Re: What type of mage is better?
#4You wont have enough points for attunement until level 90+.
Fire mage with cloak of fire is convenient at low levels.

#5Uh... Maxing attune still does great dps. I had 20/20 attune at level 63 and would 2 hit mobsYou wont have enough points for attunement until level 90+.

Re: What type of mage is better?
#6I don't remember commenting on attune's ability to increase DPS. At level 60, you had 59 points to spend, and a skill cap of 20, right? You will only have enough points to have 20/20 shards, 20/20 blast and 20/20 attune. Then you only have 2 points (I think?) for lure, shield, boost, ect. How is that a viable build?
Can you imagine the energy consumption? I can, because my level 65 ice mage loses it's energy after killing maybe 3 mobs.

#8Sure. I bet your DPS is amazing without a lure

Re: What type of mage is better?
#9Lures arent that critical at lower levels. And yes i consider spell damage on enemies of 400-500 (800-900 in the skill description) to be great dps for a level 70Sure. I bet your DPS is amazing without a lure

Re: What type of mage is better?
#10With lure, you'd be hitting 600-700+ instead. Big difference between good and great DPS.
If skill description says 800-900, what about attune? If your attune is around 500 extra damage, you're hitting like a quarter of your max potential.
