Is there any fairly 'high - levelled' mage out there that believes in being a mixture of both fire and ice? I've notice a lot of mages are hyping up a single element.

I for one switch between different builds maybe 1-3 times a week. I get a a handful of people always asking me which of the two is better, a question i have no straight answer to.

Guess what I'm trying to ask here is that, are there any others like me who isn't fixated in one element?! Who else still class themselves as neither 'ice' nor 'fire' mage?

It's a good question, but I would guess that the reason that people go ice or fire (rather than both) is because attunment requires the choice between them and because you start to invest in gear of one or the other. Prior to update 4, I used both (supplementing bolt and storm with shards), but now have gone fire (although I have a few points in shards for the time when you need just a bit more damage.

Haha i just get annoyed when people ask me as if I'm limited to one element alone. I suppose it would depend on the items you have ie. if you have the top-end rings for ice but fabled for fire. Clearly ice would be better.

But i can see that being a factor.

I'm confused. Do you mean you switch between fire and ice therefore aren't considered as either? Or you actually use a mixture of both elements in your build.

I am a "fire mage" yet I don't think it's better than ice, if that helps.

I havent seen many mixed mages, at least not a one that can outdps one type of element mage, but many mages add ice shards/firebolt as an extra skill for extra dps.
