Is it worth switching to fire mage when you have great ice gear? Or are they around the same damage for leveling to 190 and bossing?

I switched my mage from ice to fire at 195. I got exasperated at all the evades, and fire skills do more damage in longer fights.

It does ultimately depend on gear, but generally ice is seen as high burst nuke and support. While fire is seen as more of dps due to cast times

get a void ice shards skull like this guy crazymouse on danu aaand you can be dps ice

or a godly ice blast bracelet on lugh.

Have yet to be out-dps'd by any ice mage on my server, so I'd say fire.

Fire seems to be a lot more stable and stronger on longer fights, but ice can definitely give a fight. Like Pdizzz said, eventually it depends on ur gear (and luck with evasions ofc).

Ice is good for lock battles but fire is better over all in long fights.

I have really good ice gear but im wondering if fire is worth switching too. But I'd have to start over and start getting fire gear

Stick with whatever gives you better damage with gear. Aquire better gear as you see fit
