Hi guys

Just started a mage and I have to say they are so much fun to play with ive leveled him to level 50 so far and despite all the evades (so much more than other classes) I have still found them to level so much more faster than any other class, I mean I'm killing things in 2 hits most of the time which is just amazing plus casters can ride there mounts which is a huge added bonus to me. I will share my build with u:

My stats are only vitality and focus
Vitality 40%
Focus 60%

My skills are
Firebolt - maxed
Ice shards - maxed
Fire lure - half from max
Fire cloak - maxed

I'm going to try have as much hp and energy regen as possible, instead of the grimores or the focus sticks im going with mounts for the regen and improved stats they offer. I'm wondering from the points I have left over from only having half firelure should I put them in energy shield? I was thinking of geting firestorm but I'm not sure I like the aoe to level solo with.

Any suggestions or comment are always welcome

EDIT : also I wouldn't mind a little dex or defence to help me dodge but should that come from my gear instead of my stats if any? And is energy shield harder to break with the more armour u have?

Either pick fire or ice, both dont work together. I see your leaning to fire so ill put some suggestions for that. Drop ice shard and fire cloak, get firestorm and fire attune. Also regen isnt important, as a mage you just want focus. And lastly never use dex, and armor doesnt matter much, as mages are squishy and die easy, just max power. But to answer your question more armor does make e shield last longer(cause less damage will be done), but focus on the focus stat in gear.

But, if u have an issue of energy, I recommend using energy boost/sacrifice and lvl with a druid, or u can try Bobert's build if u can find it.

I guess hybrid for the lower lvls work fine, but when you level higher you do need to change to either fire or ice. What may be a good solution is to choose fire(fire atunement max, firebolt/firestorm max, eshield or incinerate or fire cloak max, fire lure half) or vica versa with equivalant ice skills. For solo lvling mounts may be better, but i strongly advice you to group lvl when you hit blackstones or boggans. I tried solo and group lvl and group lvl is so much more profitable. If you choose to group lvl try to get as much focus as possible. Damage output goes above survivability.

I think I will have to stay a hybrid for now bc I don't have firestorm but ty, I'll probably concentrait on leveling then farm firestorm when I hit 100 then change to full fire as u guys said

If you can't get firestorm you could become ice(cause ice blast is easier to get by far) you could use ice shard(max), ice blast(max), ice attune(max), ice lure(half) with your 3.5 max skills you can get.

I managed to find firestorm and went full fire now, so so so much better thanks for the advice, enjoying it much more now
