Hello all, as the title suggests, I am making a mage from scratch. I plan on spending no money on it and I am prepared for a long and tedious journey because of that. Leveling will mostly be solo but I am getting a second device soon so I can use my Druid to heal and do damage. I will not have access to any skills except for the ones obtainable in the castle until I can afford better skill books. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Keep in mind that I will have no regenerative items so I will need to interpret skills such as meditate and bandage wounds. I am unsure when I will get the second device so solo builds would be the best.

Starting off at low levels with no gear I would recommend maxing fire cloak. It kills slower but is better for managing energy.

Mage and druid combo with no plat spent?

^Thats a good combo, I do that with my mage except ofc Im lazy and use xp's (no eng, but I might use eng cus Im lazy to use Sacrifice and might replace for shield/assassins).

There's OCD people that clean their house with a toothbrush, but that doesn't mean I should. Your going to have major energy regen issues at some point, and im not sure there is enough sigil crates floating around to buy with gold to compensate. Is it technically doable, sure, is it reasonably doable, not really. I'm sure there are people who have done it, but not many. I think for people who absolutely do not want to buy plat, mage is one of the worst to pick of not THE worse.

define no plat spent. i've never spent money on the game but have used plat items and lux i worked hard for.

E.boost I dont think it does, Sacrifice definitely does or maybe with a gear bonus.
