Hey i was wondering when i hit level 100 should i keep the shield of the mountain or get the resistance lvl 100 one I'm thinking of keeping the lvl 50 one because it has more evasions and its only a 50 difference in resistance. Thoughts?

This is a mage right? Or wrong thread? Mages do not use sheilds...I guess they mostly dont unless you are focusing on reducing hp loss...I would buy a focus of seer...

No i do use a shield it makes lixing much easier and mobs go down just as fast as they did with a grim

@NUKE MAGE Shields are great, they allow mages to solo easier. At high levels very often you want dps gear, but TrueHatred is 100. @TrueHatred The shield of the mountain is pretty good so you may not need an 100 shield yet, but can you tell me what kind of mountain shield it is(normal, courtly, royal.)?

Sometimes melee is good with certain builds, sometimes shield is good.

Except for the fact that I had been doing it for a year before fury suggested it.

Lemme clear this whole shield vs focus thing.

A focus of the seer is 200 focus.

A rampart shield is 200 armor, resist fire ice and magic.

200 armor is 200 resist pierce slash and crush, making the shield cover all resists by 200(excluding poison and chaos).

Most 100 mages have under 200 armor.

Shield also gives 60 vit.

Any points in focus or vit can be interchanged(usually)

The focus of the seer only has a 140 stat bonus over shield, however the shield will most likely over double your armor.

140 focus will add about maybe..... 5% more damage max? 200 more armor will reduce damage by like 30%.

So logically, it makes most sense to level on a mount like furyion does I can't handle this bunch of nubs

I use a mount because it helps me cut down on costs, and gives me a free freeze. It also lets me fly around when fighting to reduce dps done to me.

That's my personal preference. If you wanna use a focus, shield, axe, or mount, that's up to the person. They all have their pros and cons, but being ignorant never solved anything.
