Celtic Heroes

I am currently trying to figure out if there is going to be a situation where putting points into focus will be counterproductive . Is there a point that a spells affect will either max or be unchanged by amount of focus?

Or, Can I put all my points in focus and do so much crazy damage where I can rely on rejuv/upgraded armor for efficant vitality? I understand that skill points and ability also go into the equation.
