I am a level 125 ice mage. I have a sweet setup for dps now, but I keep seeing all the posts about the lure skills, but I don't know what they're good for, or if or when I should focus on getting them.

You... You don't use lures?

You should have at least 15 points in ice lure for your level.

Oh my ice lure is almost maxed..I mean lure of assassins, lure of magic (wtf is that?) n lure of soldiers..and if there is more, please tell me lol

Lure of giants as well.

Soldiers --> slash damage
Giants --> crush damage
Assassins --> pierce damage

Assassins is the most common to use because it makes rogues/rangers and spear wielding warriors deal more damage.

Lure of magic makes druid skills hit harder.

From what you're saying im assuming that you meant you don't know when they would be helpful as opposed to what they actually do which as with all skills is in the description of them.

Really there arn't many other things to say other than when you are a support mage. This just means if you do alot of group killing with lets say rogues then sure use assassins because the rogues should hit quite alot harder resulting at faster kills. If you're a solo player then they wont be much help unless you are trying out Furyion's auto guide at which point its all explained there.

I have a lvl 118 mage about to hit 120 today and use my imperial witches pitchfork for some fun and i plan on dropping my maxed fire bolt to get lure of soldier as the pitchfork is 60 slashing dmg with 120 extra magic dmg. Other than some fun there really wont be many uses for solo lures.

These lures depend on if u have extra skill points and if u often group rangers/rogues/spear using warriors, then it is a great dps increase for the group to use Lure of Assassins. I wouldnt bother much with the other lures unless u always lvl with a druid for example whos hybrid, and then u can use Lure of Magic.
