He knows what hes talking about, Kiseijuu the maxim is definitely an amazing anime, as for tokyo ghoul, the 2nd season is the 2nd route of the visual novel I think, so the 2nd season doesnt match the manga and so far the manga is better.

Really surprised on last episode on air, the order of events has become different for no clear reason, I cant write exactly what to avoid spoilers.

Me and a friend plan on watching it at the same time(Tokyo ghoul) I cant wait tbh Hope its as good as you make it sound

I recommend watching first season since it follows manga then move to manga. I do prefer animes as well, but the 2nd season is a different route for the storyline, and I think (although Im not the biggest fan of the ending on manga) that it was a rather bad route. Although, in both storylines (manga -Anteiku- and root A -Aogiri-) the ending result was the same, and the whole storyline was similar (in some parts they seemed to just replace the order of events on the root A) and most of all the manga has a series and the anime's last episode (which was aired today) season 3 is confirmed.

SWORD ART ONLINE (it's a must. Mainly fighting But has side stories and such that fit all the things u are looking for.)

DBZ (it's a must for ur preference. Pure fighting with bits of comedy)

LOG HORIZON (fits ur preference quite well. Not too much of a certain thing. It's evenly divided between action fighting and comedy.
