Do a power cycle idevices have lithium battterys in them so a power cycle every month helps them last longer.

1. Drain battery to 5%
2. Charge to 100% (id give it 4hours)
3. Turn on an app like celtic heroes that drains battery fast and you have to leave it on until the device dies so if you even put it into locked it will ruin the process.
4. Recharge to 100% after device is dead.
5. Battery has been power cycled.

This usually takes 8-10 hours.

OK some news. I thought everything was fine but today the issue came back. I did some research and apparently using 3G drains the battery much faster than using a single wifi network. This is espescially true where 3G coverage is spotty like here in Chicago (AT&T's 3G network absolutely stinks here, google it if you don't believe me). So I don't think this is an issue of electric cords or whatever: I keep bluetooth off, push notifications off, location services off, screen brightness pretty low, etc.

This is what the Apple website says:
"Turn off 3G (GSM model only): Using 3G cellular networks loads data faster, but may also decrease battery life, especially in areas with limited 3G coverage. To disable 3G, from the Home screen choose Settings > General > Network and set Enable 3G to Off. You will still be able to make and receive calls and access cellular data networks via EDGE or GPRS where available."

"The most important thing is to keep your iPhone out of the sun or a hot car (including the glove box). Heat will degrade your battery’s performance the most."

I don't know about you guys but my battery gets freaking hot sometimes while I'm playing.
Also I did a battery cycle as suggested with hilarious results. Unplugged and with a full charge it drained to around 35% in 20 minutes while playing CH. At the half hour mark I received the 20% battery left message. 1 hour later the battery finally died. Fun stuff, I guess its time to get wifi...
