When I was little I decided to run away from home. I got down to the end of our driveway and was tired so I climbed up on our little white gate and sat there for a while.
When I had rested enough and felt that it was time to get a move on, I started to climb down the gate.
I looked down to see where I was putting my feet, and what I saw made my 5 year old blood run cold.
There, at the foot of the gate waiting for me, was the hairiest biggest tarantula I had ever seen in my life.
So I hastily struggled back to the top of the gate and sat there, crying miserably. I don’t know how long I was there, it may have been 5 minutes, but to me, a child, it was an eternity.
When my mom walked down the driveway looking for her missing boy and saw me snot faced and tear-streaked, she ran to come get me.
I screamed at her to not come get me because I was certain that the spider would get my beloved mother and eat her. However she came anyways and picked me up.
I was terrified and I struggled to climb higher up upon her shoulders. This is when she took a look at the ground and burst out laughing.
The hideous tarantula I had been so afraid of was nothing more than a leaf… I, a sniveling 5 year old sat upon my mother’s shoulders, mortified...
A leaf..!
Lol my sister did that, we were peacefully eating dinner when she screamed extremely loud and we were like wtf? And she said theres a grasshopper (a grasshopper? Really? So scarry
