Interesting way of thinking on it all Sir Socrates.
I do ask what about the people things were stolen from that could have their own financial hardships.
What about the ones who will steal from you and straight up watch you look for it.
Also the ones who may even be wealthy and steal just for kicks, thrill.

They did tell me she had several other offenses. Some can be sorry and remorseful. Some are just sorry they got caught.
At first they didn't want to tell me who it was because feared I may confront her. She's not in any of my classes which I'm glad on.

Just remember it is college and things get stolen. Keep vaubales hidden better or lock them up better so they arnt taken, and nothing like this happens to you again.
Considering it was stolen out of her dorm I would say that's keeping them safe enough.

She's now a person to not be trusted again.

Charges, well. I'm not a person who really does that to someone I know but there is still an item missing. Then who took that one if it wasn't her?

The story about some people get forced. Well if they are in trouble they could also ask friends and be honest.
If they are friends and choose to help you don't break their trust.
If you steal you only make that person sad too and if you get caught your life get miserable. If someone steals from me and say yea I need it to pay this and this than they already blew it and I would let them fix it themselves. If someone can't pay some bills and talk about it I would try to come with solutions and maybe even pay up front if I trust them. Stealing just blows that trust away.

The person who stole it isn't from the school. She was visiting and I don't know her to decide whether to trust again thank goodness. So the charges isn't to someone I know. No idea who would if not her.

Also I want to point out after some long thought. I have another necklace that is half of a locket. My twin has the other half of this locket. My mother gave us it to pass it down. She is no longer with us since 03. Can you imagine if it had been that item which is sacred. (I would never leave that in a dorm drawer)

She denies taking the item. I'm guessing either gave it away or maybe sold for cash.

Items like that locket could not of been replaced with any amount of cash, but I doubt the thieves look for sentimental value. Anyway, I would start to invest in a few locks or a safe to keep your stuff in...
Your arguement is invalid.
