Re: A discussion about religion
#1372It wasnt a dot you ignorent fool, this is the 21st century. I think you need to skip ur knowledge forward 40 yrs or so. The Big Bang according to string theory which is by far the most accepted interpretation of the TOE states that there is a multi-verse. And our universe came to be due to the fusion or fissioning of universes. Also it worries me that you base what u believe on what sounds dumber.Oh and plus3 which sounds dumber "dat God made darn near everything" or "a durn dot exploded and well, here we are".
Re: A discussion about religion
#1373So you feel you should have the right to press your opinion (and its not fact, dont say it is) onto other people? You should be allowed to indoctrinate people to ur belief, but they can't do the same to you. Biggest double standard I have heard in my life. Also, out of curiosity, would you elect an atheist president if he was the best candidate? So i cn pray, talk about my beliefs, and hold discussions, but i have to keep my religion to myself and close friends.Open your eyes wider and you will begin to see the resemblance between the major religions and Santa clause.Someone said they have proof of the Big Bang what a joke. Like the first comment said there is proof of God's existence you just have to open your eyes to find them.
The US is not the only place in the world to safely practise multiple religions and it certainly was not founded for the sole purpose of expressing religion everywhere. You may pray in public, talk about religion, host discussions, etc but the main point is that you keep it to yourselves (close family, friends, etc) and do not let your beliefs have too great a influence over politics or decisions that impact people with varying beliefs.I understand your analogy perfectly, but what you have not grasped is that America is our refuge.
Do u see the problem here? And uh, of course if i believe that abortion is wrong im going to vote agaisnt it. I am goin to make decisions by what i believe; i doubt there are many who would say otherwise.
Re: A discussion about religion
#1374I don't even know why i bother replying to u magixal. You always take my words out of context and you ignore why i said them. Did u even bother to read plus3's posts. I didnt just come up with that out of the blue ya know.

#1375Also magixal my point kind of was that u can make anything sound dumb and just because plus3 made creation sound dumb didnt mean it was.

Re: A discussion about religion
#1377Exactly. These types people know what is right for others without even considering facts. It's understandable that voting is a reflection of your beliefs (fact based or not) and that they can't be completely seperate. However the problem arises when they go too far like trying to outlaw abortion or stem cell research outright instead of just having reasonable restrictions. They made up their mind what is right for others and no amount of logical statement or evidence will sway them.So you feel you should have the right to press your opinion (and its not fact, dont say it is) onto other people? You should be allowed to indoctrinate people to ur belief, but they can't do the same to you. Biggest double standard I have heard in my life. It's pretty obvious that they wouldn't vote for the most qualified candidate if they were an atheist - that statement is an oxymoron to them. Hell they wouldn't even vote for a non mainstream Christian faith like mormonism or Judaism.
Let me ask any reader a question. Would you feel safe living in a world where the person whose thumb was on the launch button to a massive stockpile of nuclear weapons was extremely religious? Religious to the point that when the mushroom clouds went up over all the major cities on the world, millions were dying, with billions to follow - and it is wonderful! Wonderful because he is comming back. Wonderful because he is bringing his love into the world. Glorious because the very best thing that can happen is happening - he is returning and all the chosen will be with him!!

Re: A discussion about religion
#1378if I name an egg Steve, im crazy, if I name bread jesus, im christian.
Re: A discussion about religion
#1379Also, if you christians actually do research. The bible has a lot of lies. For example, Noah's arc. About 100 years after the flood killed the whole population apart from under 10 people. The Moses story took place. So ur telling me in 100 yrs a tiny population became over 100,000 people complete with an oppressive dictatorship? Either noah was the biggest man-enchanting woman in history (which I give him endless respect for) or the bible is lying. Take an educated guess, considering lust is a "sin"
Re: A discussion about religion
#1380Also solumbum my question stands, would you elect an atheist for president if they were the best candidate
