One thing plus3 if 1 out of every 8 public schools teaches creationism then why don't u take ur kids to one of the other 7 schools that teach evolution. I don't know about your neighborhood, but my town has a good amount of schools within driving distance. Even if ur town doesn't have many schools there are most likely other towns with schools around you which u could take ur kids to. I also don't want to hear that the school is to far away; which is more important to u; ur kids education or ur comfort? If u want ur kids to learn evolution then u have options. U could even(gasp) homeschool ur kids. Personally i think u should let hem stay in the school that teaches creation. (Insert something mean that i wanted to say but won't cause its insulting here).
Sometimes it is not about distance but zoning. You are zoned to go to the closest school to your home address. The only way out of that is going to a private school, magnet school, IB world, etc.
Homeschooling may be more effective, however, it does not have the same weight in our society as going to school. Homeschooled students are considered to not get a real education, learn outdated/incorrect information, etc. That is the wrong conclusion in my opinion but unfortunately it is the general consensus of our society and you would have a much more difficult time getting into a "good" college.
Personally, I think our children should follow what the most hard evidence points to. Our knowledge that we pass on should be something that even if all record of it were destroyed, we could eventually figure it out again.
