Sorry but the facts prove you wrong Friddo.

The US had a 2013 murder rate of 4.8 victims per 100,000—meaning that nearly 15,000 people were victims of homicide that year.

Capital punishment does not appear to be doing its job; it doesn’t seem to be changing every criminal’s mind about killing innocent people.

This begs the response: If it does not appear to be doing the very job it was put to do, then it serves no purpose and the warning of life in prison without parole is a better alternative.
Thats actually a good reason why to add death penalty, its obvious that most ppl dont murder, so those who actually kill several victims (which also highers the average) are the ones who should be sentenced for death, regardless if it'll prevent or reduce future serial killers appearing, it'll simply get rid of a person with very high potential of murdering more ppl. U could say 'jail him for life', but that helps no one, its like torturing the criminal himself while the civils pay taxes for it.
How can he murder more people if he's in custody with no parole?

This is what i gleam from your posts it is not right to kill someone yet it is right to lock them in a tiny cube of concrete pay for them to live until they die themselves

I'm currently happy for this discussion to continue.

Everyone is entitled to their own morale and philosophical view points, but as this is a conversation about such a controversial subject please do not include arguments about religion as It will result in the thread being locked to avoid anybody taking offense.

The discussion was fine really, and civil until Armo came in with his atheist ideology and starting spewing insults.

He affirms that my arguments are weak and stupid because they are religious-based and went as far as to implicitly call me stupid by comparing me to a wall.

It is against forum rules to:

-post derogatory remarks
-portray a religion in negative fashion

All of which he did to me.

If you want to take action, then start by giving him warning, not locking a thread that was peaceful to begin with.

Thanks.

If Armo or anyone else have atheist views they have as much right to voice them as a religious person does about their beliefs. The problem arises when disagreements between these different view points become aggressive

Perfectly understandable, my beef is mostly in the reason behind his attack/reply here on this thread which was to belittle me for using a religious-based argument.

The attack was not needed definatly but when you start the thread you shouldve stated if it was going to be religious based or not because depending on that certain arguments will be completely invalid

I still don't see the logic in not giving a killer a death sentence, once they are paroled and start taking lives again, who will we to blame? Will we then say oh they were just mentally disturbed after more deaths of innocent people.

I specifically said there could be sentence to life with no possibility of parole.
