That is just not true. When the parties started to change were before Reagan and Kennedy. And just a question pitman do you really think Obama is a lesser evil?

Obama was the better choice to romney by far. Universal health care is also the way to go but the republicans botched it

The Republicans refused to support it because we didnt have the debt ceiling to support a flawed system. In order for the ceiling to be increased republicans bargained to delay it.

Anyone else ever imagine planetary experiments where Earth would be cloned a few times to test out political groups on a global scale?

Ie: Republican planet, socialist planet, etc. Even a dictator planet...

@solum not talking dictatorship. I believe it is the responsibility of the govt to take care of the people. That it is on society to make sure all people have education, healthcare, and equal opportunity.

Kind of off on a tangeant but i believe big corporations need to be made more responsible and taxed more. Small independant business should be taxed less in order to encourage growth within a coubtry to avoid reliance on other countries

They should have to pay taxes at the same rate as everyone else. If the more successful you are the more your going to get taxed then why would anyone want to be successful. Also now over 50% of America says that Romney was the better choice over Obama and that Obama is the worst president so far by presidential ratings.

Or pull a Boehner and shut down the government over a law that was already passed and declared constitutional by the Supreme Court.

I guarantee that I can find more "bad things" about republicans than democrats. Keep in mind I say republicans as in the people, not that general party platform. I am ok with a compromise between the "Big Three" of each party:
Democrats Republican
- Bigger government - Smaller government
- More programs - Less programs
- Higher taxes - Lower taxes

What I am not ok with is the general inclination of republicans to manipulate the law to their favour on a large scale (IE gerrymandering, voting restrictions, and even the right to bear arms) and shove "traditional values" in my face to which I wonder if they realise that the progress we made did not come from sticking to the old 19th century small farm traditional values.

Furthermore, the US as a whole needs to realise that it's not the best nation anymore and if it ever wants to relive the "glory days," people need to be more informed and willing to help each other. That pretty much goes for all nations so that humanity as a whole can actually start going places.

By voting restriction it was not allowing illegal aliens which are NON American citizen to vote, which they shouldnt have the right to because their not citizens. And also when you say tip the law in the republicans favor how could they when Obama does an executive order on everything to bypass congress.

I meant the restrictions like the most recent occurrence in Florida, where they reduced the amount of days you had to vote, making it more difficult for minorities in certain urban areas to vote. They also are implementing the need to have a government ID in States that they control and I believe I even heard the rumour of a tactic to reduce the amount of voting machines in certain areas of Ohio.

You honestly can not complain about the executive orders. Obama has still made less than Bush and they are constitutional. Furthermore, congress is a mess, somewhat due to gerrymandering, so sometimes such a bypass may be necessary. If we had a republican president and another mess of a congress, I would expect petty much the same thing.

Edit: That is not to say I would be happy. I just would not take it out on the people with a government shutdown and a taxpayer funded lawsuit against the president. I would wait until the next election, which is the whole point of the system of elections every 4 years, and hope the public has a change of opinion.
