Re: Constitution: Founders were religious or non-religious

If Jesus had existed, he would have been dark skinned. He was from the Middle East as were both his parents.
Just a little something to ponder. What does Persian mean ie the prince of Persia, and what does Iran mean. Look this up and you will be better prepared to make a statement like this.
On another note read the original proclamation of Thanksgiving (the real origination of the American thanksgiving holiday not the made up pilgrim and Indian story) by George Washington and you will find enough information to answer the OP question. Also once again I refer to Thomas Payne and the federalist papers they put the timeframe and the precursor to the constitution as to the foundations of what was being done.

Read it twice
Yes, the atheist has read over 1,000 pages, 66 books, hundreds of chapters, and tens of thousands of verses, twice. Maybe you should read it again. What do you have to lose by being a christian? Tell me.

I have enjoyed reading this post :), I have no idea whether the founding fathers of america were Christian, but I do know even if the were Freemasons they could be Christian also. As I have many Freemason friends who are devout Christians.

Also did Jesus exist, many atheists don't deny the fact that there was a man who resembles Jesus from the new testament and there is historical evidence of his existence, if he was the son of god then that is up to each individual to decide.

It is also important to remember that the old testament is part of the Torah and the new testament is the basis of Christianity, also the Koran has parts from the new testament talking of Jesus's birth but he was seen as a prophet not the son of god.

Religion is an interesting subject but can be destructive because it appears that humanity loves to use the belief in a god or not as a reason for disliking another :(.

I personally believe that we are lucky to be here and whatever you believe if it brings you comfort or peace then so be it, I would like to think that when the founding fathers were writing the constitution they too weren't thinking about there faith but in the humanity of a country they were developing :)

I hope I haven't offended anyone as that wasn't my intent and if I have I apologise.
