Sorry to point this out. But the rather shall we say. Interesting. Language that plus choses to use does not in any way influence the points he is attempting to make, ergo posts commenting on his bad language are pointless, although I have to say. Plus you are the one locking the forums. Quit your potty mouth.I'm the mentally ill one? If you can point out the one calling others Mental for not following your Atheist CRAP, you might be surprised.
Notice that the Atheist cusses people out, and resorts to making bigoted comments while defending things that aren't true.
Notice the Christian, who hasn't said a cuss word on this thread/threads.
Remember God is love. Let's figure out who the Mental one is now. Atheist defeated by 'logic'. How am I not surprised?

Other than trolling people who have reality acceptance issues this thread serves no point. If religious people were convinced by facts and logical argument we would never even have started a discussion on these silly topics.

#64Can we all just stop making new topics? It's extremely selfish to everyone that you just keep making these, and you KNOW it's just going to get locked again. And again. And again, for however long you continue to make these pointless threads full of personal arguments between pairs of people. Each one of these devolved quite quickly into people being hateful and rude. So just stop, please.

Re: A Discussion About Religion: The [Threequel]
#66No problem at all. As admin had stated in the latest warning it was the content that got the threads locked not just people getting insulting.
It seems as if you have trouble reading what I wrote. Either that or you like writing only half of what I said.
As I have said when you have certain people who I won't name say unbelievably non-PC things like rounding up and killing people for thier sexual orientation is OK it is just the kind of thing where virtually no one stays polite in addition to the topic being a TOS violation.
The really funny part is some of those people don't even see why it is morally questionable to think that way. Kind of sad really.

Re: A Discussion About Religion: The [Threequel]
#67Well, in his defence, he said he would grudgingly participate in killing or rounding up LGBT people if ordered by the government. That is not really religious motivated action but rather patriotism. The important thing to realise is that no government in the world would stoop to that level of hitlerism at this time, therefore, they would have no motivation to kill LGBT people. Whoever made the original comment can feel free to tell me if I interpreted that correctly or not.
The comments about slaves is another matter. They tried to justify slavery in the bible with a comparison of treatment of biblical slaves versus the more modern treatment of slaves. The problem here is that slaves were treated better in the bible than in our modern era, however, they were still oppressed and held in a lower position in the society of the time. As a slave, they had less opportunities to exceed in life and their free will was infringed. You could say that it was not as horrendous as modern slavery but it would limit the advancement of humanity and it is barbaric.
This is my interpretation unless the people who made those comments were to offer a better explanation...

Re: A Discussion About Religion: The [Threequel]
#68The forum format allows for a near infinite amount of threads to be created without any degradation of the efficiency of this forum. These threads are also organised from the topic/sub topic menu by name and when you immediately view to topic "off topic," you see only the name "Discussion about religion" and not any other part of the thread. That single phrase is not offensive in nature which means you would need to actually click/tap the name to view the messages within it and you have an option not to.Can we all just stop making new topics? It's extremely selfish to everyone that you just keep making these, and you KNOW it's just going to get locked again. And again. Now here comes the unnecessary analysis. You have short syntax and do not use commas correctly. You promptly used a curse word in order to assert anger beyond rational inquiry. Your supposed purpose for commenting is an invalid argument with only two correct facts regarding the previous threads: 1) That people basically had personal arguments in pairs and 2) Everyone was overly rude. Conclusion: All of these would be indicative of a person (most likely religious) who is close minded and decided to intervene in order to gain attention and destabilise the thread in an overall effort to further bury new perspectives.
Analysis of my response: I am a bored high functioning sociopath.

#69First of all you almost named names lol. The person in question had no 'grudgingly' statement. Rather they would willingly be the guy who threw the lever for 'the chair' if the government would capture them and assign the death penality. They then went on to say they would take no part in the process of an abortion even if it meant punishment. They then further tried to backpedal and say that's not what they meant likely not due to accuracy but due to the reprocussions of saying exactly what they felt.Well, in his defence, he said he would grudgingly participate in killing or rounding up LGBT people if ordered by the government. Second biblical slavery being better than 'modern' slavery is quite a farce. It is true there were two different classes - Hebrew and foreign. Also Hebrew men were treated better not the least of which females were expected to perform sexually as well. If you were a male Hebrew you may have been treated more like an indentured servant. However if you were a forigner you were trash. I'd like some evidence because the minimum requirements put forth in the bible sure don't seem any better than the minimum put forth by southern US states and it's just as likely people ignored the law then as now.
From what I see the only ones saying slavery was better in biblical times are religious apologists citing the bible to prove it was humane.

Re: A Discussion About Religion: The [Threequel]
#70Eh, I am too lazy to go search for this stuff. Lol. But, you know what? It does not matter because the majority of the bible is unproven in any case, therefore, there is no reason to care anymore unless hard evidence is presented in the first place.First of all you almost named names lol. Regarding the names... Does that actually apply if we are referencing what someone actually said? I mean, anyone can just go to the previous threads and find it anyways.
