Bro. Just because its Old Testament doesnt mean it can be skipped. Do you read the bible like this "umm.. I think im going to skip pages 5,6 and 9. The rest are ok for now. I might have a problem with 11." No you don't read the bible like that. You absolutely have no idea what you are talking about. First of all, it was in the old testament that they were stoned to death. We say that it is wrong, and that it should not be condoned. We also do not think that you should ignore it. Also Moses married an Ethiopian women. I wonder what color she could be. Second of all, no where in the Bible does it say that we should hate gay people or black people. It says that homosexuality is wrong, but that we should treat them with love, but we don't condone sin. Not condoning sin is not the same as hating those who do it. It doesn't even say anything about black people. Also if Christians are supposed to hate black people then why are there black Christians. What you posted is nonsense Magixal.
Oh yeah forgot to mention: I think this is my last post for today. See you tomorrow.
Re: A discussion about religion
#702So let me get this straight. We have free will. But god can kill us any time he wants. k then.@ Plus3-
It is not baby murder. Baby murder is what those people were doing. They would literally chop open the stomachs of pregnant women in the cities they attacked. Also, as I said, God gave everyone there second chances, third chances, fourth chances, fifth chances, etc. It was the people's choices that killed them. Also, to that quote, the evidence we have given you you have turned down as "not being evidence" because for some reason it is too hard for you to comprehend, too scary, or you don't want to believe it. I am inclined to believe the third. If you don't want to believe me that's fine. If you are going to argue with me like "You haven't given evidence" or "Your wrong", then so be it. You don't need to believe in God. I am just trying to get my viewpoint across.
@Maxigal-
About the "Jesus existed but was only smart, not God." Jesus himself said he was the Son of God. He also said not to lie. So was Jesus a hypocrital genius who made up all these lies? Then how would he become a religion? I could spend my whole life saying I'm God and spouting parables and no one would believe me. So the option of mere genious is out of the picture. Plato and all them made parables and spoke. But they're not religions. So a genius philosopher can't work.
Option #2- Jesus was insane. Obviously not. He would not have gathered his followers through insanity.
Option #3- Jesus was the son of God. He was extraordinarily wise. He taught people how to live right. He was and is hailed as the Son of God. He has a huge religion after him.
I don't know about you, but option three sounds like the only logical one to me.
Also, we don't hate gays or blacks. We think being gay is wrong, but that doesn't mean we hate you. We also believe lying is wrong and rebelling against your parents is wrong, and being gay is just the same as those-a sin. By saying we hate gays you're saying we hate all humanity, including ourselves. By hating blacks, I'm assuming that you mean because of slavery in the bible. We've been over this. Slavery wasnt just blacks in the bible it was whites, Hispanics, Arab, male, female, EVERYBODY. Those two claims are both illegitimate.
Re: A discussion about religion
#704I think its good you question something even if many do think its true.I asked you to show me some proof of evolution. Not the other way around. You haven't shown me much proof yourself. Look, people thought Columbus was crazy in thinking that the world was round. My point is that just because many people believe it does not mean it is right. And to explain the other thing, I was just pointing out that it was someone who did know what they are talking about. In other words that it was not me. As for my age, that is classified. You don't need my age to disprove the points that I have made.
For evidence all you need to do is use the internet. It's all right there. If you have a natural history museum in your city try to visit it. Sure most of the bones are castings- if you are rich you can travel to museums where the originals are on display.
Life branches from the distant past with a common ancestor for all things. This is all perfectly preserved in the right order in the right place. There are no fossil rabbits buried in with Cambrian period stuff for example. Also the DNA evidence. It is overwhelming. Just google DNA differences between humans and chimpanzees.
It's not my evidence it is the evidence unearthed by all nations and all people for the good of the world.

Benelevonent all powerful deities committing baby murder? That's an oxymoron.
So you just admitted that you are on board with this baby murder by 'god' explaining it away as. 'That's what these people are doing".
Because you changed the subject trying to skirt the fact that baby murder is in the bible and that an all powerful god did it out of spite instead of sparing the innocent.

And if a man has sex relations with a man, the two of them have done a disgusting thing: let them be put to death; their blood will be on them.
So killing gays is in the bible. Not just saying its wrong - but to murder them. That's a fact.

Re: A discussion about religion
#707It is funny how fast this page (with the quoted post) seemed to fall behind. The links have some interesting logic but again, it is circumstantial. It also admited that a majority of the locations are where shallow seas once were but resolved the argument by saying there are other possibilities, keep faith, etc. It is not the logic that is flawed but the lack of solid physical evidence.Okay here-

You don't have to read all of it lol.
I realize some is Christian sources. If you would like to run your own search just google "proof of the flood" or "was the flood real". I hope this can answer some questions.
Re: A discussion about religion
#708Actually there is evidence of a Black Sea flood. I posted links in the follow up comment. It's not certain what the details were but it certainly is plausible. A small land area was stopping oceans from flooding area beneath sea level. It is funny how fast this page (with the quoted post) seemed to fall behind. This only affected .025% of the earths surface.
Imagine fresh water did flood the world. It would have killed all sea life. Did Noah build water tight tanks and carry two of every whale down to kelp also? Or if the flood was salt water all the fresh water fish would have died. Heck the right amount and the brackish result would kill nearly all fresh and salt species leaving very little left.
Somehow that glaring point of mass extinction of aquatic life gets left out. That alone is solid evidence a world flood never happened as there was no mass extinction of aquatic life in the last few thousand years.

Re: A discussion about religion
#709I did see that but I thought the argument was for a world wide flood. Even if it rained, the water could have been salty, it could have been diluted with the sea water, etc. I believe there is a high possibility of a large flood that may have been predicted by a stroke of luck or some form of meteorologist and maybe a person named Noah was widely known for building a large boat to survive. Who knows? However, if there was a large flood that covered the entire Earth, why would there not be marine fossils everywhere?Actually there is evidence of a Black Sea flood. As you have mentioned, the hardest part to believe is actually the two of every species. There are so many forms of life on this planet that the arc would have to have some form of Doctor Who technology (bigger on the inside). I suppose a divine being could have accomplished that feat but then there are other questions regarding actions/events that defy logic.
Re: A discussion about religion
#710I edited to add content while you posted. Oops
The argument was for a world flood but the only non Christian non-bible evidence was related to the Black Sea flood.
Now I would totally be in board with the Doctor saving all the life with his bad ass time travel device. Cause he's cool like that. In fact I bet it was tom baker. Unfortunately all evidence was destroyed in the last time war leaving us all to ponder if it really is sci-fi or history! The world may never know.
