An example of the comparison of capitalism with socialism is East vs West Germany.

Obama is a better speaker then Romney and most other people. He has made a few mistakes recently, but nothing to change the election. If you want to see mistakes, remind me again what's the third branch the GOP wanted cut? Seems they all forgot when they were telling it.

More reason updated reasons

1. Obama winning by current poll in Wisconsin, Iowa, Nevada, Michigan, New Hampshire, Ohio, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. More then enough swing states he can afford to lose a few even.

He handled Sandy well. Aid has been distributed and cities haven't miraculously rebuilt themselves, but much better then previous Super storms.

Looks like Romney may win. Initial reports show record breaking republican turn out which is not how the polls have been weighted.

This means all the polls have been wrong and should be shifted in the Romney direction

@derp - Well it doesn't matter at all if I agree or disagree with you on the issues. I don't vote in America. Of course, I have a preference, as I think one of the two would be better for my country, but that is outside the scope of this argument.

I haven't heard of that movie. To tell the truth I expected it to be a Michael Moore movie based on the title. lol. Just read the synopsis, and will try to find it someday. Thanks for the suggestion.

@Uzi - Don't be a bellend. You have to think Gestalt to read my post. You can't isolate one aspect and tell me I am wrong or foolish. First off, Obama is a better speaker, hands down. But that in itself won't win an election, so don't remove it from the rest of the post. Obama being caught off guard is a bit of a rarity in the big picture.

Al Gore was a far better speaker than Bush the Younger, for example. Gore could smoothly string a sentence together, for instance, while Bush could rarely handle three words at a time... and about 10% of those words weren't even in the dictionary. Bush took the election, though, due to several other issues and more than a few screw-ups.

@Papi - Yes. And I answered your question. That is my take the voter base. Of course, some of my statements were slightly tongue-in-cheek, but I do think they are of worth. You need to be careful, though... some of your nuances betray the integrity of the thread ;)

@Gladier - Well said. Obama's history of well presented speeches has set a bar for comparative failure. Press will pick up on the occasional "uh," and label it as being unprepared.

I don't know much about how Sandy was handled, but it sounds like a solid point. If the comparison is Bush and Katrina... Obama could do no wrong.

Your reply shows me that you don't really read what you are replying to. This isn't a thread about who would make a better president. It isn't a thread about who you plan to vote for. It isn't even an economic discussion, unless you think that will sway the voters. It is a thread about who you think will win, and why. Personal feelings and political leanings are irrelevant.

Further evidence that you don't absorb what you read (this is taken from the post of mine that you so conveniently preserved, yet failed to read in its entirety):

Let me re-phrase myself, as it seems to be a little tough for you to wade through all the words: I am not an American; I can't vote in the States.

So why try to sway me to vote against Obama? Laughable.

As for the debt thing, I can tell that you saw that photo on Facebook, or someone sent you the chainmail. Now you are re-spouting it as truth. It has been debunked as slanted, inaccurate, and largely false. Simple propaganda for simple folks. Check your references.

Obama hasn't put the US in more combined debt then all the other presidents...do the research
8 trillion moron
Okay... I'll side-track with you for a moment.

Uzi, you are just so remarkably easy to prove wrong. Where are you coming up with your numbers? I thought you were using that inaccurate photo on the internet of "Washington to Bush 6.2 Trillion: Obama 6.4 Trillion." That photo is blatantly false, but we will ignore it.

You are obviously using some other source of false 2nd hand information. 8 trillion? Is that what someone told you at a coffee shop? Did you simply move your head to the left to make room to pull it out of your arse?

I'll help you get some numbers which are more accurate. Use http://www.treasurydirect.gov/NP/BPDLog ... ication=np Plug in from when Obama took office until now.

The debt was at 10.6 trillion when Obama took office, and now stands at 16.2 trillion... a difference of 5.6 trillion. Not 8, and certainly not doubled.

That being said, numbers and percentages are always a crap-shoot. The Regan Administration increased the debt 190%, even though he spent less than Obama (are you also arguing that Regan spent more than all prior presidents?); Bush took office with a surplus, and still spent $4.9 trillion (so not so far from Obama in total, though he did it in 8 years). Numbers can be deceiving, especially if you account for inflation. No matter what though, you are incorrect. Very, very incorrect.

I'm not defending how much has been spent in the past 4 years, but I will certainly defend against false information.

And stop calling people "moron" when you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Now run along and apologize to Gladier. While you're at it, correct the person who told you $8 trillion
