Well, in order to have perfect justice you should have punishment for sin, correct? Well, basically, repenting is saying: "I know i have sinned, please take away my burden" for Jesus can take away the punishment of sin, as he has suffered enough on the cross to repay any sin, though anyone who does not repent... Well, justice gets served i guess...

The only thing i don't get about atheism (yes, a little of topic, please do not respond to this part, just something to think about) is, why run the risk of eternal punishment? You only have to dedicate a few hours a week for infinite glory! Why pass up that offer? What if all these stories were right about Jesus?

Because I could spend those hours a week doing something that is tried and tested to work, for example, laundry. Also the main reason im not christian is the fact that Christians can be so ignorant. Not all of them, but the few that are really do a good job of making themselves known.

Of course there no ignorant Atheists, Muslims, Jews, Hindus or Sikhs... Just Christians, right? Perhaps the main reason for not choosing a religion should be that you don't believe in it, rather than disliking it's followers.

Posts and inane statements like that are precisely the reasons that topics like this can't exist. Perhaps you are ignorant of other people's feelings? And no, I'm not Christian.

How is homosexuality a sin? No where in the bible did it say it is a sin unless I'm blind and it is actually in the bible.

That's confusing. So the fact that people are born attracted to people of the same sex is irrelevant and okay—as long as they don't actually go ahead and act on their feelings so to speak?

That's like saying back in the Middle Ages where left handedness was condemned, if you were left-handed it's fine, as long as you didn't actually start writing... Which didn't happen at all, anyone found to be left handed was believed to have connections with the devil and there was plenty of corporal punishment involved on children. :|

I actually have considered this in the past, so it is slightly unfair to ask for people not to respond to this. In order to actually be accepted into Heaven after death, one must have complete faith in God, right? I highly doubt people who pray for the sake of praying in case God really exists lies under the category of '100% faith'. I know even if I decided to give up a couple hours a week to pray/ect, it would be very half-arsed since I don't truly believe, and would be doing it just to have done it.

I do not belive in this God stuff, It doesnt make any sence what so ever! Y did God create me if im going to be atheist? And if he "gave me my own choices" then why run the risk of having to punsh those who chose the "wrong path".

As I posted on the "Question for Atheists" thread. Take life as an experiment, and the wanted results are Love and Faith to God and eachother. Every person is an Independent Variable, and all have a chance to get the wanted data.

Your analogy was completely out of place lol. An analogy has to have a strong basepoint. Left handedness and sexual orientation are 2 different things. Left handedness was condemned back then out stupid superstition.

you are completely off-topic. Not once did we mention beleiving in God or not , this is about homosexuality in the christian religion.

You are having a debate with an atheist. If you're going to state facts, let me go right ahead and post facts about evolution to make your whole argument invalid?

You are in no position to say what is 'natural'. There is no evidence to confirm that homosexual attraction is caused by environmental factors; it may be a trait gained through genetics, therefore it could be 'natural'.

And who knows, in another 500 years time, viewing homosexuality as unnatural could possible be viewed as a 'stupid superstition' too..

It seems this topic has been going all over the place. I'll try summarise the argument so people are able to continue with the debate a little easier.
