I have an iPhone 3G that I plug in while I play and somehow I still lose a charge while playing. Is this normal? Am I killing my battery? :|

It might be your charger.
I also play while it is plugged in and, I do not lose any battery.

I'm using the one that came with the phone, but its plugged into a short extension cord. I'll try plugging it directly into the wall.

My ipod's battery is getting bad too I think. But im playing this game on my ipad. Perhaps try to lose the extension cord.

The extension cord won't do anything to impact your battery life or charging ability.
You may need a new charger. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the older chargers had a lower output compared to the newer ones.
If you decide to get a new charger, I would take note of it's rated output. I know the one I use, which is about 2 years old, is rated 5 volts at 1 amp. I've never had any issues with charging or battery loss during gameplay.

Thanks scrambles, I think I have the same one (5V). I plugged it into the wall and that seemed to fix it. After closer inspection the extension cord I was using seems to have burn marks around the outlet. Probably not a good thing. I'll post again if anything changes.

Yeah, that's about the only way an extension cord will impact your charging

My battery also drops while its in the charger...maybe also time for a new charger, mine is from 1.5 year ago ( Iphone 3gs)

Just make sure your battery icon shows that it's charging. You guys might just need to check and see if you're plugged into the wall all the way and that your cable is plugged into your iPhone all the way.
Sometimes my charger comes out of the wall a little or comes unseated from my iPod while I'm using it and I have to adjust things.

you can also turn off bluetooth to save battery life. maybe that and the game are draining you faster.
