I live all the way to the south. Depending on where you from weather wise it's okish.
People here are pretty nice but the country seems to be a little bit behind in modernisation. I hate the traffic, everyone has a car and drives. Can't peacefully cycle around that much. But the nature that is present outside the town is pretty nice

Scotland tends to be colder and wetter, especially the highlands :3

USA sucks...at least the the urban and suburban areas where people actually live. If and when I retire, it will be either in a Southeast Asian country or Spain.

UK and Scotland scares me for some unknown reason.

Any special customs I should know about growing up in USA?

Mcdonalds won't have same quality as US anywhere else :0 in Britain be ready for tea flavored big macs
