Has anyone read The Catcher in the Rye?

Is a good book imho and fun fact the person that killed John Lennon carried this book around and related every single action he did with The Catcher in the Rye.

I've heard of it but have yet to read it, I'm waiting to get the Throne of GLass Prequal,, LOTR and the Divergent series.

Eh I thought about reading it but then when they said the guy started to hear voices after he read it kind of stopped me from picking it up lol he probably just had mental issues but I'm paranoid
