I think this is where it gets interesting tho.

We generally agree Rangers greatest skill is Rapid shot. Combine this with heroic gloves and it should outweight other skills such as sharp shot and barb shot.

Ppl who go strength build is becoz of DPS oriented, relying on auto attacks and most probably can kill the mobs faster.
Ppl who go dex build is probably more on support oriented, giving them an extra 100 - 250 heal into light heal. Plus they have a much higher rate of dodeging enemy attacks + an extra attack rate.

I know it depends on your play style but generally which is better? Or it should be somewhere in the middle making it a hybrid.

Morph, check out nighthawks thread about sharp itself. Couple of ppl posted there that are more Dex based than Str and sharp still pretty low in comparison to auto dmg esp when taking into account sharp's recharge time.

As posted there, the (my) issue with sharp is not so much build based but just skill based, i.e. the skill sucks regardless of build. Dargonknight seems to think otherwise, hence my request to post his build where Sharp doesn't disappoint.

I have my dex at at 270 with sharp shot at 33/25 hitting 600-800 on Kelpies and my dex isn't even that high

I will I still use rapid as well but only have it at 19/25. The defense bonus from dex is worth it
