Dex tank ranger is like 5 str half dex 10 foc half vit but most rangers stop at 200-300 vit

The idea of an evasion tank is cool but rangers simply don't have the agro control spells so it does not really work.

Seems like a cool idea though. I imagine that you would really need to stack on the dex though. Perhaps evaision armour would be more important than AC armour such as the midsummer event armours? For an offhand would you go with something that added extra dex and stick with a bow, or would you go with a shield and spear or knucks. Same questions for jewelry. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has tried a "Ranger tank". How well does it work, or not work? Even If I never played my ranger in this way I would still like to learn more about it. I don't understand what half dex means

Im a lvl 135 ranger. As of now my stats are as follows. 240/310 (405)/ 10 (60)/ 140. With some dps gear such as greater earthsone necklace, radiant bracelet and radiant boots i hit 600+ on auto on dummies. With my sharp i hit 1241 and currently have the 9th hardest skill hit of ranges in rhionnon. I use golden quiver of ice so with a mage with ice lure maxed i can do crazy dps and hard sharp. As ok now my sharp, steady, and light heal maxed at 30/30. Trying barb shot over rapid because rapid has fast regen rate.my bolas is for lvl140 and lower which is fine atm. So bolas 27/30 barb is 24/30. As of now im slotting str when i lvl working on bringing up to 300 since i hear you plateau out after 300. So far the build works great for bosses and soloing.

Im slotting str to 300 then maybe adding more into vit and dex after i hit 300 on str.

I don't understand what half dex means

Half dex means you use equal dex and vit till you have enough vit then rest goes in dex

I had a dex build for quite a long time so i decided to try the full str build. this is a great build! i use haste elixers and bolas while lvling and ive found my damage will most likely kill the mob b4 it can come into contact with me.
