I'm new to the game and I have decided to go more with dex in my ranger build though I don't know if all my stats are good. I find myself dying a lot when training against enemies my own level. Also, some people say put points into focus while others say leave it at 10. Should I do this? Should I change my stats?
Level 30
STR: 42
DEX: 83
FOC: 10
VIT: 40
I have lamellar armor and an ancient long bow.
Re: Ranger Build Help
#2I'd get a bat mask that adds 10 focus if you need the focus bad. Also for a low level dex is good because you use sharp shot and rapid shot is good if you don't have haste gloves. Btw you don't need to worry about bolas until you get into OW or if you have a clan that does bosses.

Re: Ranger Build Help
#3personally ive changed my build quite alot as i level, id say to keep dexterity and health as your main priority and strength as your second while leveling put a little into focus if you dont have gear that gives you extra points, build kinda like this from what you have till around 60
strength 1.5
Dexterity 0.5
focus 0.5
vitality 2.5
strength 1.5
Dexterity 0.5
focus 0.5
vitality 2.5

Re: Ranger Build Help
#4If you want a dex built ranger... all righty then. put 0 points in strength. However, if you dont mind missing more, getting hit more, and causing slightly more dmg put some in strength. for stats, make sure that you have 100 energy as a base-not focus, energy. then worry about some other things. 3 in dex 2 in vitality, thats the way to distribute stat points. get energy regen as soon as you can, it will take care of all your energy problems... until then, increase your focus whenever you feel you need some... you shouldnt need to get more than 375 energy until you get decent energy regen. put nothing in strength, its not really worth it. Instead, get an ancient warbow asap, that bow will keep you company until you can get your hands on a quartz bow, at level 60, or get the warden bow. anyway, on to skills.
Max: sharp shot, steady aim, light heal, defensive spikes. leave everything else at 1... except meditation, and thats only if you do not have energy regen. now on to armor...
get ancient lamellar when you start thinking about armor, then get warden armor at level 50 plus. Well, that takes you almost to level 80 as far as a guide goes. dont forget to have fun!
