My Ranger - LvL 63

#1
Hello Community,

i have a Ranger being Level 63 atm.
I have read a lot of topics in this forum, but still did not find an answer to my question.

Before i start, some information about my ranger:
I have only the standard quiver and i am saving gold for the Golden Quiver of Ice.
I have Duskshadow Armor (blue, from Temple NPCs, Enteron, Gastor, etc.), Duskshadow Gloves (green, from Stonvale Farm NPC) and own a Quartz Bow.
My play-Style: i like to deal damage with both, with my skills, but also with my autohits. Need to find a nice balance..I like to deal huge damage in short time, but since sharp shot has such a high cooldown, i dont want to mainly focus on dexterity. So i am trying to mix it a bit. Or is this no good idea?

I dont have any rejuve, regen, energisation ammy or ring! And i dont want to pay for platin! I won't accept paying real money only for pixel and virtual goods...Therefore i want a nice skill and stats setup from beginning!

Skill Setup:
I maxed Sharp Shot 19/20
Rapid Shot on 10/20 +1 Ring
Bolas 14/20
Light Heal 14/20
Meditate 9/20
The Rest is left on 1 since i dont think to need Steady Aim Buff or Barbed Shot.
I dont own any other Ranger Skills at the moment. Is there a Skill i need to buy? Like Ectangle, Spikes etc? Do i need them?

And: is my skill setup okay? what should i max next? Is there a kind of guide which has level based suggestions? I dont want to buy 123467818 Alteration Books to find the right balance.

My Stats are:
STR 87 (88)
DEX 119 (130)
FOC 45 (66)
VIT 84 (85)

I am leveling at Whisps in Stonevale, always with a Mage (64).

i think u should lower medidate, at least to 5, 9 is way too much for rangers
i wouldnt put any pts on rapid shot, mostly now since it got ruined, and also its for full auto builds mostly, dex rangers use it on lvl 1-10 (10 is fine but as an extra skill, and at ur lvl u got no extra pts)
sharp shot ofc good for dex ranger
light heal ofc max it too

bolas, not the best for lvling atm, i would use longshot

as a dex ranger and mostly at ur lvl u dont need bolas, i would say

light heal
sharp shot
longshot
steady aim

best skills IMO

as for stats, at ur lvl and as a dex ranger u dont need that much str (at ur lvl ofc)
higher dex and vit, do 3:2 dex-vit untill u got 300 dex-200 vit - if u got lux u can be with lower vit untill u hit 120, at 120 i would say 200 vit at least is a must
focus - fine for now, lower it to 10-30 when u get lux
str - dont put pts on that, not sure untill when tho, maybe 100-120

hope i helped, wait for more comments tho =]

Dont waste your time on spikes, its useless. Double shot doubles your auto dmg so if you think your autois good enough u can give it a try. I dont know about entangle. Never used it

Thanks a lot!

I've chosen the Light Side of the Force and am spezialising on a dex oriented build (building up 1 STR (until i reach 100 STR), 3 dex and 2 VIT (until reach 150-200) per Level-Up.

Should i reduce my Rapidshot Skill, which at the moment has 10/20 to maybe 5/20 (because my damage comes from Skills and my skills are ready earlier als the rapid shot buff exhaustes/disappears.

I am thinking of buying heroic gloves, since they are being sold at cheap prices at the moment. Do i need those as i am a dex ranger? And: Can i then reset all rapid shot points and put them on another skill???

Thanks in advance

Hey, so I'm just going to give you my suggestions. For a dext ranger build I'd focus on the skills: Light Heal, Long Shot, Sharp Shot, Bolas, and maybe Steady Aim when you get a higher level. When I had a dext ranger build I had light heal maxed, and it kept me near full health while leveling. Then I'd work on long shot, which is excellent for doing high damage when first attacking an enemy. Sharp Shot is good when you get it to a higher level, so I'd put that third priority behind Long Shot. If you feel like you're going to do a lot of boss fighting I'd get my bolas up. If you arn't don' bother with them. Steady Aim is good for improving accuracy and damage a bit, but it dosen't really do a lot until you get higher. I kept rapid shot at 1 and it worked fine for me, as a dext build it dosen't really help even if you do upgrade it. Same goes for the heroic gloves, while increasing your attack speed because you focus on skills they won't be a big help, unless you buy them for the armor value. If I were you I'd buy a hp/energy replenishing item. Finally just an idea for what might work for your build. Strength low, but not overly so. Perhaps 1/2 to 1/3 of your dext. Both your dext and vit should be high, in the early-mid 100's. If you get a focus replenishing item you should keep your focus very low, perhaps at 20-40. For an interesting build that can take a lot of hits and deal out lots of skill damage lead with vit, then about 20 pts below is dext, then str, then focus. Just my input however :)
