Still, I don't know.
Nothing really beats the shortbow sold for 5g by Aislin.
But the Shortbow is bested by the Connacht bow used by noobs.

As a ranger I would advise against any melee class weapons. Bow FTW. Can't stress enough that your bow (and quiver) are your greatest allies. (and maybe that druid over there that heals 2k)
