I would recommend going from the starter bows to a warbow to the ancient longbow which will get you to where you want to go (lvl 60). I would recommend you stat up like this: 2.1.0.2- though you might want to put some in focus early on. If your a ranger you cant get away from dex, but you can limit how much you have.
For skills:
Steady Aim- you can buy in ranger shop at level 15-you must bc this skill adds attack (which you will need every point you can get in it) and damage. KEEP IT MAXED.
Bolas-you get this one as a freebie near level 15- DO NOT MAX IT. Keep it working at 10 levels above your own (if ur level 20 you can bolas a lvl 30)- it sucks up energy but you will need it.
Double Shot- you can probably buy this or at a higher level you can go looking for it, it normally goes for 2-15k from a player (shops don't carry it)- same thing as bolas although its energy cost isn't as bad, keep it working 10 levels above your own.
Light heal- you need to be able to heal yourself- KEEP IT MAXED.
Rapidshot- this skill sucks until you can get it to 40/40 nowadays- alas the sorrow of the world. however some lower levels still use it and it can be nice, just an uber long cd- and can be an energy drain.
Meditate- Yes it sucks as a skill but its still efficient at what it does- energy regeneration. throw about 7 points in it and you will be fine until level 30-40.
For jewelry just use the stuff you get early on- as long as it doesn't take anything away. do the leystone quest itll give you a necklace that adds 40 health. You might want to get a ring of energy regen (+5 per tick) once you get near lvl 50 and then grab a heroic ammy.
I personally would not go str, as I have tried it numerous times and always gone back to dex. However, there are those that somehow make it work.
