I'm new to this game and wondered what Stats should i upgrade first and what skills are important to get and learn early in the game.

Just started my first ranger and also started reading other posts and this is the one thing I gleaned.

At low level Bolas stink but once you get your skills up it becomes your best weapon. However by the time you need it you have spend all your skill points on other things. So, whatever approach you take make sure to save points for bolas. Concentrate on a few skills to get to 10 and then get bolas to 15 the moment it lets you (aka save points to throw them all to bolas when you can.) Otherwise it will take you 15 levels before you get to use them effectively.

i agree with the bolas thing. Until i was lvl 50 or so, i never used bolas. my preferred method was to use rapid fire with sharp shot queued up. so my attack was a sharp with quick transition to rapid - caused a lot of damage quickly.

Steady aim is a good buff, and it doesnt take many points to make camo useful through the beginning of stonevale.

I rarely use barbed shot, except against cloak of fire enemies - but i know other rangers who use it a lot. personal preference. I would probably use it more if i had a winterking bow.
