Spears aren`t good for rangers, I recommend you use a bow for a ranger.

Let him use a spear it's his choice. Although I use a bow spears are fine. I'd recommend until you have the gold a Banded Targe shield from Highshore Village. My friend was a spear ranger, he maxed rapid shot, lite heal, and bandage wounds. Rapid shot kills your energy so if you don't have lux put some skills in meditate.

If possible get a lux shield, if not, go for a targe, or any other shield thats within your price range. But the shield mustn't be too heavy, otherwise it saps energy. I think there are some cheaper lux shields without regen, cheapest is 40k I think. If I remember, then its called a shield of valour.

I have a mighty shield of crowns, and it works perfectly for my warrior, and it also works well with a ranger, as the health regen is good.
