@Napol the 15 pierce dmg more then the ancient composite goes a lot farther at his lvl.

Not composite, longbow. And as I said, dmg isn't everything, dps is. Let me tell you a short story.

When I was a relatively new ranger (level 40-50), I thought that damage was everything and speed played only a small part of my damage (didn't fully understand dps at the time). I started leveling near greygorge, but was having some difficulty while using a warbow (not sure but something like the warbow, Ik however that I didn't have the ancient anything from shale). The difficulty is relatively obvious to see, I was using a pretty bad bow for my level.

Then one day a friend gave me a new bow. It was uber powerful damage wise (~40 or so) and had a pretty slow speed (4,000). I was so happy and soon was leveling with few problems. Being a noob at the time I did not realize how bad the bow really was (damage mighta been great but the speed was crap). I had finally gotten to 50-53 (not sure exactly but it was low 50s) using this bow and was very proud of myself. I could take out a whole unicorn by myself! By about this time, I joined a pretty good, new, uprising, and active clan (Phoenix Rising) with a close friend (same one who had given me the bow I was using and we often trained together). The first day we joined we each gained 2 levels (for story purposes lets say I was now level 55).

There was a pretty great general at the time, who has kept looking out for PR for a while now even while not in clan, who was a pretty good expert on the game in general and a few classes in particular- one of which was ranger. He took one look at my bow and almost blew up- at first I didn't understand why, but he explained dps to me and how speed effects the dmg, etc. etc. Then he ordered me to get a different bow immediately and to sell or drop the bow I had been using for about 10 or so levels.

I decided to comply and see what he was talking about- though it took me awhile to decide to get rid of my old bow (seeing the ow quartz bow after I hit level 60 helped a lot). As a replacement bow I managed to get an apprentice Connacht bow (bind on equip) I wasn't able to kill certain mobs anymore, but I noticed after a couple more levels that I could kill things a lot faster- needing to get 25k for the quartz bow helped a lot to test this theory out- I killed just about everything in shale and sv with that bow. To be honest the ancient longbow is better than the bow I used- and I managed to get all the way to 60+ using that bow.

Once I hit 60, then 80 I used quartz then diamond. In this update I use mete bow, and I am looking forward to getting froz bow pretty soon. I am not happy too much about the 160 bone bow’s speed but I am sure it will be okay and by the dl bow I will be fine.

To wrap this up- damage isn’t everything.

First off nice story. Second why dont you get adament bow? And keep in mind adament is better then frozen for leveling.

Thanks. Adament bow costs $$$$ and I am about 5 levels from getting froz bow with killer speed. And If your leveling on the lava fields I don't think its all that 'hot'. Also I prefer in general to not spend $$$$ that can be better spent once I need over 2.5 mil gold for certain 150 lux items... Plus I don't really need the adamant boosts over the froz set boosts to which I already have a coupe pieces equipped and a few more almost ready. Also the froz bow is comparable to the lvl 140 bone bow, which is another reason I decided not to get the adamant bow. This way I can wait til 160 before I buy another bow. And after that dl!

Also starting at 140 I plan on getting the ancient beastbone armor so why spend money until lvl 150 lux shop?

the normal wyrbone bow is much better than frozen bow btw for lvling. I would recomment wyrmbone bow over frozen for both, bossing and lvling

Yeah Im not sure whether Ill get the wyrmbone bow at 140, seeings how I might be 140 before I even get frozen (or real close to it). So far the bows seem comparable to each other.
