When you go with a dex ranger don't expect your autos to be strong your build is based around skills if you want strong autos should have gone strength

Thanks for stating the obvious. In a dex build the damage output from the skills and weaker auto's doesnt exceed the damage output from a str build, in a str build I have no skills to provide extra damage. Any other melee class can run a str build and still have skills to use. Warriors have pummel and rupture amongst others. Rogues have sneaky, quickstrike and rend. And their autos are uneffected

Not to mention a rogue with weaker damage from a dagger can equip mordy spear and get max speed on heroic haste and easily exceed my auto damage with their autos. with added skills.

also the lvl 200 dagger gets the added dagger ability and damage which makes it close to dl bow in damage anyways. If i go 200 bow for added damage im not getting the max speed that i get from dl bow.

Lots of negative aspects to leveling a ranger

Don't count pummel it sucks lol even when i maxed mine out autos still hit higher and pummel is evaded most of the time

Are you talking from an endgame standpoint? Cause last I checked you're a 120 farcrag dweller, meaning you haven't "maxed" it out. Pummel is free dps, and even tho it hits low on 6* bosses (like 400/4000 on mordris) and evaded somewhat frequently, it doesn't make sense not to use considering the lack of other decent dps skills

I'm not endgame warrior but I'm lvl 202 probably higher then ur warrior.
Pummel is good it doesn't interrupt autos, you can cast it almost 2x more then gs in the same time and ik it gets evaded frequantly on bosses but still way better then giantswing. For warriors I would nvr change pummel/double attack/shatter

I think Ranger needs a boost on the single target killing capability. rogue, warrior, and mage can quickly kill a single target or add at a boss fight. While rangers damage comes slowly overtime through autos. I've tried many times reskilling and trying different equipment to dabble in dex and it wasnt for me. my autos were half what they were with str build and the skills didnt make up for it. I personally really like the idea of explosive arrow for killing a couple targets or adds at once. it needs a slight buff and slower cast time. it gets evaded by bosses but could be useful for killing adds swarming a tank if he can hold agro in time to get a few xplosive arrows off. problem with xplosive arrow for a non casting class, it costs 400+ energy if maxed at 50. Its dex based so its not bad with dex build and horrible with str build. still doesnt make up for lack of damage lossed from sacrificing str build. Personally i love the str build ranger so i would cry if they nerfed ranger autos. our bows are heavy and slower already so we need the added damage per attack. i think no classes need nerfs at this point. it takes 30 ppl or more to organize a raid already.

My server seen this is not at all a joke, in a long fight against a boss where evades are heavy, if a druid can sustain their DOT and throw a few bolts they can win the dps war. im sure its close, we'll never know the exact figures. druid was 203, ranger was 215 on 210 event boss. late at night and no rogues or magees in lock group at start of fight. i wasnt surprised to see the druid take the kill even when being 7 lvls lower than the ranger. we need a true insta cast skill that is strength based like other classes. something that we will use. wont hurt our auto game. sharpshot needs to be true insta cast. We also need a solid DOT that is also str based. I think alot of us still use some dex for boosting attack. and its nice to have some defense for adds on bosses when they do attack. it just stinks it takes so long to kill an add with autos. bolas and entangle could be a slight DOT and that would help. Entangle and bolas are used for bossing in cases. and entange being DOT would add damamage while trying to kill a single target. 300-500 per tick when maxed.

Going to assume this was the current event boss, the ranger didnt have great gear and the druid had average-good damage equips.

Mages present get basically every kill on this boss because its weak to element damage and has decent resistance to pierce.

So im not surprised a druid outdps'd a ranger, but you cant base your information about druids outdpsing rangers from one boss where the odds are in the druids favour and not telling us about the gear of both these characters.

Personally in my opinion i agree that some of the ranger skills suck and are useless, i would like sharpshot to be str or maybe double shot be instant cast but please dont act like rangers are much worse then they really are, geared correctly they can have very good dps.

Pretending in your posts like they are handy capped is not going to speed up getting the skills fixed, just learn about the gear you need to be the best you can and maybe druids wont do more dps then you.

The most important bosses in the game are mobs that can take divine damage. Casters will always take the kill on non-chaos bosses.
